Rome through my phone

Hello everyone! Finally a weekend to sit and relax after weeks..! The previous weekend I traveled with my sister to Rome! I was there same month last year, but I needed some days off and she wanted so much to go, so why not! It was rather a quick decision but our days were full of sightseeing and walking. And when it comes to tourist walking, fashion booties are not made to walk centuries old alleys of cobble stones, that's for sure. We rent bicycles, the weather was sunny and we had such a great time! All photos through my iPhone - yes I still don't have a camera.

Weekend mornings

These weekend was full relaxation, no exams reading, no work waiting to be done either. I spend more time with my sister and friends, read my book, watched 3 Harry Potter movies in a row and spend a lot of time on creativity inspiration. My cell phone broke on Tuesday so no instagram for a while, thankfully my old camera still works!

Birthday gifts!

Hey there!I really should put some more effort in my posts..! Between work and exam studying the only time I had was the weekend, it's weird how on the one hand I want to have a job on my proffesion but on the other hand I'm so eager for my internship to end because it's so tiresome. Anyway! On August 31st I had my birthday and was so excited with the gifts I got!

My boyfriend got me this new old Polaoid 600 camera (old because it's made in the 80s, new because it's never been used) plus 2 packs of film from Impossible Project! I was always eyeing the Fuji Instax because it's more affordable and has cheaper film but he wanted to get me "the real deal" so yeap, I'm super excited to try it!

The knitted clutch/book-cover (especially handy when you want to carry a book in your bag but dread ruining the cover and pages) is from my best friend, who knits perfect things with her mother and the lovely pink-nude heels from my sister! It's a pity they're more spring/summer-y and it's already September but I'll try to wear them as long as it's not too cold! (and maybe try them with tights to see how they look..!)

Snapshots from July

Hey there! July just passed so quickly and thank god the sea is so close to where I live! An 1-hour trip and you get to turquoise water beaches sourrounded by rocks, trees and mountains in the distance, I swore a little that I didn't have any better camera than my phone! This summer I don't think I'll go anywhere particular for vacation, as me and my boyfriend will have a leave from work on different dates, but we plan on going camping each weekend!

  
  
  

That lovely tote is a gift I got from a sweet girl I still haven't met and the last photo is from my boyfriend's band's studio. What about you? Any special vacation planned?!

Lost between autumn and spring

I try to find my routine in between cold and warm days, days full and empty, drinking lots of coffee and trying to find inspiration in new things. There are days when I feel like I'm only really living in my head and that's when I want to figure ways to do more. I should probably find more ways of being creative, more photography, visit the always-dissapointing library for something new to read, start exercising or take short trips with friends or my boyfriend. I finally found an internship (starts on April!) and I want to take the job as a motivation to start all these!

Back in time

Can I be so excited about a piece of jewellery so much? Yes I can! It's not a plain piece of jewellery - even if it's only a cheap replica - but Hermione's time turner from Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban! I've been eyeing this in the Warnes Bros website but I couldn't afford it now, so even if this rusts in 1 month, it's still good enough for me!

Both the dress and necklace I got from dresslily.com who were kind enough to offer me freebies! That dress is just gorgeous, I'll make another post with it soon! 

2 days in Rome

As I told you in a previous post, the past weekend I took a short trip to Rome with my boyfriend! It was rather short for a city so full of sights, but I don't complain! The main city is so small that we went everywhere on foot! In the end we were too tired to do anything else than lay on the bed dead tired but it was worth it!

Our hotel was in the center and all the sights are minutes away from one another! First on the line was Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain), then the Pantheon (I expected it a little bigger after Illuminati), then to Piazza Navona through the most beautiful little alleys full of small restaurants and flowers (YES I TOTALLY regret not taking photos of houses and alleys, it was too beautiful walking there!).




After a capuccino and a little rest we took the road to the Vatican, which is around 20 minutes on foot. Let me tell you, all their churches and all their fountains are masterpieces of art, there are so many of them that you get used to the beauty as if it's something normal..! The bridges across the river are just wonderful, especially the one leading to Castel Sant'Angelo (remembering the scene in Illuminati again) that has 10 magnificent angel statues each one holding instruments of Christ's Passion, all by Bernini.




And then to Saint Peter's Basilica. No matter how many photos and videos you see you'll never get that feeling of awe until you're in... I didn't take many photos of the inside because I was just looking at everything like hypnotised.



On Sunday, we only had around 4 hours before leaving for the airport, so our sightseeing was cut down to the Colloseum with the Arch of Constantine and seeing the Roman Forum from the Palatino hill (we didn't pay to go inside).




Even if it was only for 2 days, the fact that I was away and alone with my boy after so many months (and 2 years of not being able to take any trips together) made everything pefrect. Sorry for the image heavy post, I suppose you don't mind!!
